Arsen Hajyan is a musician who started his career in Armenia. After having taken his first steps on the saxophone at the Music School named after Alexander Hekimyan in the class of Irina Gasparyan, he enters Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), the Faculty of Culture to learn teaching. Then he has studied the course “Perfection” for three years at the CRI (Conservatory Regional Influence) of Douai in the class of Michel Supéra having a rich training filled with masterclasses and internships. Currently he is studying at the Lille Music School, Hauts-de-France (ESMD de Lille) to get his National Diploma in Music Performance (DNSPM). He is also going to get his State Certification in Music Education (DE).
Arsen Hajyan has a large repertoire, which includes sonatas, rhapsodies as well as concert works for saxophone. He has been the winner of several national and international competitions. He has performed as a soloist with the orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki (Greece), the AGBU Sofia Chamber Orchestra (Bulgaria), the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, at the Lille Opera with Pina Bausch’s Dance-theater Wuppertal for the Palermo-Palermo opera, the Armenian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Douai Orchestra within the project “Tim et Tom”, “The Creation of the World” by Darius Milhaud with the orchestra of the Pôle Supérieur under the direction of Arie Van Beek in Lille.
In his career, he has performed at the private concert of Matthias Kiesler (the ambassador of Germany to Armenia), during tours with the troupe called “New Names of Armenia”, at the Pinto Theater and at the Moscow Culture House in Madrid (Spain), at the concerts by the invitation of the Vladimir Spivakov charitable foundation, at the Tchaikovsky and Roerichs museums in Moscow (Russia). Arsen Hajyan has also given solo concerts at the Aram Khachaturian Museum and at the Chamber Music House Komitas in Yerevan (Armenia).
He worked with many teachers such as Christian Wirth, Jean-Denis Michat, Claude Delangle, Antonio Cánovas Moreno. His passion for music does not end there. He has organized saxophone courses for children and adults in Annezin and in Roost Warendin collaborating with Michel Supèra.
Apart from his career as a soloist, he also performs in chamber music. Being the soprano saxophonist in a saxophone quartet with his colleagues from the Pôle Supérieur, they have a very large repertoire from the Baroque era to the present day. He works with composers such as Vincent Paulet, Alex Nante, Pierre-Yves Langlois, Ana Giurgiu-Bondue etc...

Autant dire un événement incontournable pour tout amateur de danse contemporaine, pour tout esprit curieux, pour quiconque cherche à vivre une expérience inoubliable. C’est avec une pièce emblématique du répertoire du Tanztheater de Wuppertal que les 22 danseurs de la compagnie investiront l’Opéra de Lille : Palermo Parlermo, créée en 1989.
